Kitt Shapiro how to style your r13 jeans

How I Wear My R13 Jeans In Summer — Yes, Even in a Heatwave

I know what you're thinking. It's 90 degrees out and you want me to talk to you about jeans?

Hear me out.

R13 jeans are the exception to the no-jeans-in-summer rule — and I say that as someone who lives in them year round. The denim is different. Lighter than it looks, broken in from the start, and cut in a way that somehow just works even when it's hot.

Here's how I wear mine all summer long:

Keep it minimal on top. A white tee. A breezy linen shirt. Less is more when the temperature climbs — let the jean be the outfit.

Go for the boyfriend style. It has enough ease through the leg to feel cool — literally and figuratively. Avoid anything super skinny when it's hot. You want air flow. Mine are so 'well loved' with a lot of distressing from years of wear that I have some extra air flow.

Ditch the boots, grab a sandal. The same R13 jean that looks cool with boots in October looks incredible with a flip flop sandal in July. Same jean, totally different vibe.

Embrace the cuff. Roll them once at the ankle. It reads intentional, keeps you cooler, and looks effortless.

The secret with R13 is that they feel better the more you wear them — and summer is honestly the best time to break them in.

Come try them on at WEST. I'll be the one in the jeans.
